This picture was taken from Nye Noona. In this vase was the water hyacinth that Ginger had sent me.
A very warm and special thanks to Ginger from Nye Noona! She was kind enough to send me some of her wonderful water hyacinth free of charge. She wanted to pay for shipping too, but because she was not charging me anything for the beautiful plants, I wanted to pay for shipping, it was the least I can do, so we set up an agreement, thus I would pay for the shipment. Ginger had UPS the plants in on Monday and I had received them yesterday, every single one was in perfect condition, except for one, it had started to wither, but that was no problem, I am sure I’ll be able to nurture the wither one back into health in no time. Even after it was free of charge, Ginger was nice enough to send a plentiful amount. I felt like a child opening a Christmas gift, and was very excited when I kept grabbing more and more thinking to myself, wow there are so many and when I thought it was all, I notice there were more on the bottom.
My brother is going to start is pond sometimes this season so that when spring comes along the water hyacinth would have a wonderful new home. As of now, I am keeping them inside with the rest of my plants for the cool autumn season into the cold winter days so they can stay warm and healthy. Their home is still a little generic, but by this weekend they will have a much better home. One of the plants had arrived bloomed, it was not fully bloomed yet when I had received it, but when I return home today I had notice that the bloom was much bigger and healthier than last night.
I am so excited that I finally have my first water plant to add into my little small collection of tropical plants. I am looking forward to adding more water plants within the next few years. Once again, a very warm and special thanks to Ginger!
I will continue to update on health and conidtion of these water hyacinth.
