These portraiture pictures were taken for my Portraiture class and I hate the pictures. LOL
We used the Lowell DP light with the “butterfly” style. Once again, I hate them and I think I’ll have to reshoot it again. We shot a whole series of them and I hate them all. Aahaha… This is our first time using studio lighting and shooting indoor. My two models are two of my classmates. We used each other as our subject for our portraiture class. Looking into a good laugh? Well I just finished watching “Nuj Nplhaib Special” and boy must I say, it is one of the best movies I’ve seen all year, and it’s only the second quarter of the year. ehehe.
“Nuj Nplhaib Special” is another version of the American Hit movies “Scary Movie” and “Heroes”. Why did I say that? Well I said that because in this movie they used the storyline of a very popular Hmong folktale “Nuj Nplhaib thiab Ntxawn” and at the same time imitated few other movies such as bits and pieces from other Hmong movies, Thai Lakorns, Korean Drama, Chinese Movies and etc.
To be truthful there were a few scenes in part 2 that I found a bit dragging but nonetheless it was still very good, the dragging parts were not bad nor was it too dragging it was still tolerable, but the majority of the time, the movie was hilarious and very good. I thought they had cast all their characters in a way that if they were to replace any of those characters the movie wouldn’t had been as good and as effective. Each individual fit their character perfectly. Acting skills were of course, funny as it should be and props that were used in this movie were great. Each prop somehow enhance the comedy aspect of the movie or gave the movie a feel of “better quality”.
“Nuj Nplhaib Special” follows the story of “Nuj Nplhaib thiab Ntxawn” a Hmong folktale of a very beautiful girl who had captured the heart of a tiger, so one night the tiger portrayed as Nuj Nplhaib, Ntxawm’s boyfriend, and kidnapped her away. It is up to Nuj Nplhaib to find Ntxawm and the tiger, to kill the tiger and rescue Ntxawm from harm. Only in this movie did they twisted the whole story around, added great comedy scenes and added other side stories and crazy yet funny twist to the movie. There were also a lot of unexpected funny jokes and scenes that was pulled in this movie.
As soon as the beginning credits finish rolling the movie was already hilarious starting out with a rely race involving the many Hmong men trying to go through a course of obstacles towards Ntxawn, who ever gets to her first will win a prize. The funny thing was the winner won a big black bowl and second and third runner up wins a necklace with a bar of soup hanging on each side. I couldn’t stop laughing so hard during the obstacle and all the funny rely events that they had to go through to reach Ntxawn.
Another great part was the part when all the elders were at the farm farming and what not when they heard the sound of a flute, then they realized that it was a piece of a very popular flute song so all the old ladies ran towards the sound of the instrument, to find out it was only Xai (cast as himself) who stood at the edge of a huge rock playing the instrument from a radio.
The ending was every unpredictable as they had changed the ending of the original movie. I must say, I had a good laugh with the ending; it was very different from what I thought the movie was going to end out to be.

Well school starts back up again tomorrow which means I’ll get extra busy again, but don’t worry I’ll keep my blog active. Another crazy schedule for me to deal with again, goodness, when will this stop? Oh I know when school is finally over, duhh! I won’t have a day off what so ever, yes not even on Sunday thus I’ll have to work 4 hours on Sunday to complete my 40 hours work week. So throughout the week I’ll either be at school or at work, no days off at all. Hard work and patient will surly pay off soon enough. I hope! I’ll keep strong and stay focus!!

Tomorrow my office is having a competition luncheon and each department is going to compete against the rest of the other departments in my unit. Because in my department we only have 3 people we had teamed up with another smaller department for this competition. We had decided on what each individual was to make and decided that I make some stuff chicken wings while Barry makes some Thai Curry and Song brings rice and drinks. I am honestly not sure what the other department in my team will be making, all I know is that they will be bring two more dish and a desert. Let’s hope we win this competition since I’ve put so much work into making these stuff chicken wings.

while the chickens are cooking in the oven lets start with cooking the sugar for the sauce
Once all the sugars are brown and desovled add water to it and let it desolve some more because when you add the water it’l turn into a solid (ahhhh so chimistry is used for cooking to)
Crush some peanuts to add with the sauce. and yes i did mixed it with pepper because i was to lazy.
add onion and cilantro and a bit of garlic to the sauce.
don’t forget the sweet chicken sauce, fish sauce, and vinegar or lemon oh and water as well.
mix the suace together and ready to serve with the wings

My stomach hurts!! I don’t know why, but for the last couple of days it’s been hurting. I hope I didn’t eat or drink anything I wasn’t supposed to. AHHHH, I want to go home and sleep this pain away.
I am half asleep!! Blah!!
I need to learn how to manage my time! I am so bad at doing so! I always end up wasting my time away doing basically nothing. I always end up wasting my days away when I have more important things to do. The days are either too long with nothing to do, or too short with too much to do.
I found myself doing my English and Math homework on a Sunday afternoon, how boring can that be. Now college is starting to bore me. I can’t believe I am taking these two classes in the same quarter, what’s worse is that I was forced to take English online because in order to get my full financial aid I have to be a fulltime student, and I am not stupid enough to take math online. But taking English online isn’t such a smart thing to do either. I only register two weeks after my registration time ticket and all face to face English classes were already filled up. I didn’t want to just not go to school, because if I was to skip a quarter I would not want to go back to school, that’s what happened for 3 years until I finally forced myself to attend college. These two are the only classes I could take before I start my photography program at the school. This really suck, well I can at least get English out of the way, and then after this math course, I have about 3 more math courses to take. I am really behind in my math courses. If I knew this last year when I first went back to school, I wouldn’t be so behind in my math courses. I am so mad at myself!!
I don’t know why my wireless card for my laptop is so slow!! I live couple feet from a VZ wireless poll and yet it’s still taking forever to download! I used to be able to download everything in a flash, but I don’t understand why since Wednesday, my pc card had been so slow.
Still trying to learn how to use this blog, I am still not use to wordpress yet, so do bear with me.
